Health MOT/Personal Health Check

Overview

A health MOT is the opportunity to have a weight, blood pressure, blood glucose and cholesterol check by one of our appropriately trained pharmacy staff. The MOT allows the patient to know their current level of health and to get appropriate advice on healthy living or referral to other healthcare services as needed. The MOT also allows for the action of some medications, such as blood pressure tablets, to be checked that they are working appropriately. This service will be carried out in one of our private consultation rooms.

These tests include;

• Diabetes
• Blood Pressure
• Body Mass Indicator (BMI)
• Cholesterol

Many potentially harmful conditions can show no symptoms yet if left untreated can lead to problems in later life. By carrying out a personal ‘MOT’ test, you will find out if you are suffering from any conditions and if so you will be fully advised on the best course of action to take.

Benefits

This service allows patients to get a broader view of their well being at a particular time. This may be helpful for a patient who feels well and does not wish to visit their GP. The service does not require an appointment. Patients will be given a record of their results to enable them to see if their results change over time.
