BADHAM PHARMACY achieve Investors in People at Bronze level and a Health and Wellbeing Good Practice Award.

Following recent assessment, Gloucestershire based Badham Pharmacy have been awarded Investors in People (IiP) at Bronze level as well as a special Health and Wellbeing Good Practice Award, recognising their commitment to the health and wellbeing of their staff.

Badham Pharmacy is the first pharmacy in the South of England to achieve this special award.

“I am delighted that the company has received this award, another first for Badham’s and its excellent staff,” said Peter Badham, Managing Director.

As early adopters of the Healthy Living Pharmacy programme, our pharmacies achieved the required quality criteria and met targets relating to local healthcare needs. Staff are trained as healthy living champions, proactively offering customers free advice on a range of health issues such as diet and exercise, weight management, smoking cessation, alcohol consumption and sexual health.

“We were keen to support the Healthy Living Pharmacy programme because of the health benefits it offers to people in the communities we work in. However, it is directly relevant to all our staff and supports their health and wellbeing also.”

“Our company’s commitment to providing the best possible service to our patients and customers couldn’t happen if we didn’t invest significantly in our staff.”

Peter went on to say; “These awards acknowledge that Badham Pharmacy is a family run company that cares for and values its staff.” IiP was first introduced into the company by Jean Badham, the founder’s wife (Peter’s mother) in 1999 and has been re-accredited every three years since.

Cherie Andrews, Head of Human Resources said, “I am so pleased that we have achieved these awards. We can only provide exceptional service to patients and customers with and through our staff. IiP and the Health & Wellbeing Award enable us to benchmark and continuously improve the way we develop and support our staff.”

Barbara Marsh, IiP assessor told Badham Pharmacy that all the staff she spoke to were very committed to the success of the company and the services it provides. A formal presentation of the awards will be made this Autumn. The company will be working to turn IiP Bronze into Silver in 2015, the 75th anniversary year.
