Patients Encouraged to Order Repeat Prescriptions Online Using the NHS App
Patients who receive regular medication are being encouraged to order their repeat prescriptions online using the NHS App or by logging in to the NHS website, helping to save time and reduce pressure on GP practices and pharmacies.
The NHS App provides a secure and convenient way for patients to manage their healthcare.
By ordering prescriptions online, patients can request their medication at a time that suits them, without needing to phone or visit their GP surgery or pharmacy.
Once registered, patients can use the NHS App or NHS website to order repeat prescriptions in just a few steps. They can also choose a nominated pharmacy to receive their prescriptions, making collection quicker and more straightforward.
A spokesperson said:
“Many patients are still unaware that repeat prescriptions can be ordered online. The NHS App makes the process simple and helps patients stay in control of their medication.”
To use the service, patients need to download the NHS App or visit the NHS website and log in or create an NHS account. Registration requires basic identification to keep patient information safe and secure.
Patients are reminded to order their repeat prescriptions in good time to avoid running out of medication. Those who nominate our pharmacy can be confident their prescriptions will be prepared efficiently and safely by our trained pharmacy team.
